1. Mica Band Heater Brief Introduction
Mica Band heaters are constructed with a mica core wound with wire.
The core is then bent into a circle band. Leads are attached before
the final outer sheaths are attached to complete the heater. Mica
band heaters are the ideal solution for high watt densities and
high operating temperature applications, especially for the
plastics industry. Band heaters can be found in several types of
dimensions, wattage, voltages and material. It is an inexpensive
form of heating solution to external indirect heating. And strip
type is also very popular. Band heaters use electric heating (NiCr
2080 wire) to heat-up the external surface of drums or pipes and
high quality mica material insulated.

4. Mica Band Heater Application
Band heaters are commonly used in the plastics industry: to heat
plasticization cylinders, extruders and injection presses. They are
also employed on woodworking machinery and scientific-medical
equipment.
Flat mica bands are used in the packing trade (sealing bars and
wheels), industrial ironing (mangles) and plastics
(extrusion/blower machines).
